Learning to crawl

As everyone knows, Emmie's a *little* behind on the whole crawling biz - she's been more interested in trying to stand and in playing with her toys. In the last couple of weeks, though, she's made some real progress on crawling. She can get into the "crawl position" as you can see here, which mainly emphasizes how tiny she really is:

Of course, she hasn't actually *crawled* yet, but at least she's trying :) Also, this is apparently Emmie's impersonation of Pebbles from the Flintstones.

Waiting for Spring...

We are all sick of the temperature being in the 20's or lower and can't wait for spring to arrive. Last week we were surprised when we had one day in the upper 60's, so we opened all the windows in the house and also went for a nice walk. I know that the upper 60's sounds cold to all my California and Arizona friends/family (and I would have agreed with you a few years ago), but this was a nice treat.

Tasty Toes

As Emmie continues to steadfastly refuse to crawl, we've begun working on standing. She's able to stand just fine, provided you hold onto her hands. What she hasn't figured out is how to move her feet. I think I've identified the problem:

So, I'm supposed to use this thing for walking?

Nah, I think I'll just chew on it *munch* *munch* *munch*

If we could get her to stop eating her feet, maybe she'd start moving around :)

Bee Boppin' Baby

Emmie has begun to dance whenever she hears music. She may not have a lot of rythm, but she sure is cute. Here is a short movie of Emmie showing her rocking dance moves.
