Princesses of Hugs

Every once in awhile, something weird happens.  The girls actually play nicely together.  The other day, they dressed up as princesses and sat together nicely on the couch:

Floating Point

So, a very interesting thing happened the other day.  Apparently there was a decrease in gravity in our living room, right above this random pile of pillows and sofa cushions.  That's how Daddy explained the following pictures.  He assured me it was certainly not from throwing young, helpless children several feet through the air....

Daddy: "See, she's clearly sitting in the air.  My hands are just there in case gravity starts working again..."

Daddy: "And see - it works for Laney too.  She's practically standing straight up.  I definitely wouldn't chuck my sweet little angel into a pile of haphazardly stacked objects..."

Daddy: "Oh, she didn't fall.  She was tired from all the calm, floating in the air stuff that was going on.  Yep.  It was so relaxing she fell asleep.  I had to pull her down and lay her on the ground.  Good thing we had all those pillows there for her to lay on/near."

Daddy: "That's it - wake up sleepy head.  Oh look, Emerson's floating again somehow.  I'll stand back and make sure she doesn't fall asleep too..."

You're so cool baby....

While Daddy worked in the garage with the loud, scary table saw, the girls worked on their fashion poses.  Here are a couple of shots of the girls all glammed up:

Managing to get along for five minutes?  Check!

Happy Fourth of July!

Despite the awful heat, we decided to take the girls up to Brownsburg for their Fourth of July parade.  Here are some pictures:

Finally, we got to the parade part.  No better way to celebrate the founding of our nation like running out into the busy street to eat candy thrown on the ground by strangers!

It's been a LONG time, but I will try to be better

It has been almost a year since I posted anything on this blog, but it is time to get back to it! Things are going well here. In fact, tomorrow it will be a year since we have lived in our new house. Jeff has been super busy at work and I have been busy with the girls. Everyone is doing great!

...I haven't posted in FOREVER! We have been so busy with moving and unpacking that I haven't had time (truth is I am just lazy.) I was going to play catch up and post pictures of past events, but I think it will just be easier to start fresh.

Dress up time!! Emerson chose their outifts!

Easter

I am still playing catch up with the blog, so here are some photos from Easter.


The girls had fun coloring the eggs. Delaney pretty much ate the coloring and Emerson was trying to paint Delaney.



We went to the park for a couple of Easter egg hunts and here is Emerson going through her loot.

Emerson had a blast finding all the eggs the Easter bunny left and once she found them all she started hiding them all again.

April

It is the season of consignment sales here in Indiana!! You can always get such great deals on toys at these sales, so I left the girls with daddy so I could go shop. This is what I came home to:

I am not sure why Emerson has a helmet on and why he thought they needed to be put into a "cage" but I guess they enjoyed themselves.

Emerson's first movie night, we watched Tangled. BTW: she dressed herself as a princess.

The weather was nicer so we were able to get outside more. Delaney enjoyed eating the grass.

Time to get ready for Easter. Emerson had fun coloring the eggs, but wanted to do it every day for about two weeks after that.

Party Time!!!

Emerson celebrated her third birthday on April 4. She had a lot of fun and loved all of her gifts.

She wanted a dog themed birthday so we made dog cupcakes for her. She was happy to eat cupcakes for breakfast.

March

After the Ice Storm of Doom, the weather became pretty nice. They started excavating the lot that our house is going to be built on... so exciting!

It is cold!!

There has been nothing to do here lately except play in the snow. I am the worst snow driver so I really don't like leaving the house unless the roads have been cleared.
