Ro-Ro in da Hood...

Since Emmie's been born, we have always had high hopes... maybe she'll be an Olympic athlete; maybe she'll win a Nobel Prize... But then sometimes we fear that she may take a different path. What if Emerson Rose, sweet little angel, decided she wanted to be Ro-Ro, the motorcycle-riding miscreant? We think she might look something like this (sans motorcycle):

Look at mean ol' Ro-Ro... beating up on her chewy blanket!

This is Ro-Ro's "Watch out suckah!" face... Best to back up before she gets you!!

Bed Head Baby

Emmie's hair is starting to become, well, a hot mess... it's getting long in all the wrong spots, but it's cute nonetheless. She works quite hard on her hair-do while she sleeps, making sure to combine the right amount of drool with the right amount of rubbing her head back and forth. Here's one of Emmie's cutting-edge looks:

Emmie, Queen of the Turtle

So, we decided it would be a neat trip to head over to the Washington Township Park last weekend for the "Wildlife Expo".... until we got there and it turned out to be the "FISHING DERBY and wildlife expo"! Needless to say, we weren't planning on introducing Emmie to any fishing, so we went to the play area and had some fun. Emmie enjoyed sitting and playing on the giant turtle (don't ask me who thought of the brilliant idea of installing a large, rock-like statute in the middle of an area where little toddlers run around at full speed). Please to enjoy some pictures:

It would appear that "Suzy" the turtle* is blissfully unaware of what's happening on her shell. Emmie's having fun though...

Here's a pic of Emmie with Daddy... her eyes actually look a bit blue here, although we're pretty sure they're slowly turning brown. Please ignore the awkwardly-posing individual in the background.

* Now of course I don't really know the name of the turtle, but Suzy seemed as good as anything else... I mean, can you think of a more "turtle-y" name?

Mirror, Mirror in my hand...

Who is the prettiest baby in the land? I'm not sure if Emmie's figured out *who* exactly is in the mirror, but she's gotten pretty good at spotting herself and likes to laugh at herself. Here are some pictures:

Ok. Staring contest starting... Now!

What? Another tie? I'll get you, girl in the mirror...

Piano Baby

Emmie and Mommy have been playing around with the piano lately; Emmie likes the sound it makes, and Mommy likes to play. Here are a couple of pictures of Emmie playing with the piano:

Here's Maestro, posing by the piano.

Emmie's tickling the ivories... it would be a lot easier if she could reach them without Daddy's help, hehe...

Here's a quick movie of Emmie teaching Mommy how to play Mary Had a Little Lamb, just one of many songs in Emmie's repertoire:

Another look at the Council of Babies

Our embedded reporter was able to grab another picture from the secret Council of Babies; she also tried to get us some video, but she was spotted and was forced to leave it behind. Here's the picture, followed by our analysis:

It appears that the membership of the Council has changed since last time; we're wondering if the positions are elected, or if, as is more likely, the babies fight to the death for their position. While our reporter was unable to give us any details on what exactly was happening at this point, it appears that we've uncovered evidence on how the babies actually communicate. It appears that the Council is capable of some limited form of thought transfer: the babies are arranged so that their heads are close to each other, and the little one in front appears to be passing a message on to the baby next to her. We'll try to get more pictures next time!
