Bar-B-Quties!

We must secretly like this hot weather, because not only did we go out for Touch a Truck day, but we also barbequed this past weekend. Nothing fancy, just some chicken kabobs and corn on the cob, but everyone had a good time.

Touch-a-Truck Day

Last Saturday was "Touch-a-Truck" day at the park - plenty of fire engines, police cars and other fun vehicles to check out. We took Emmie and Laney before it got too hot and humid outside - here are some pictures of the fun:

First, since the trucks were at the park, we had to convince Emmie to actually go *away* from the play equipment. Not an easy task.

Laney took a nap while Emmie played at the playground.

Once Emmie saw the 4-wheelers, she started to understand the appeal of "Touch-a-Truck" day.

By the end, Emmie was directing folks around while operating heavy machinery...

... and then Laney woke up!

Story Time

Emmie is still trying to get used to having a sister around, but at least she is starting to interact with her some. Here's Emmie reading a story to her little sister before bedtime....

Hello World!

Delaney Sage was born at 4:08pm on May 3rd. She weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and is 19 3/4 inches long. As you can see, she has plenty of hair, just like her sister. Both Delaney and Mommy are doing great, and Emmie is excited (and confused) to be a big sister. Here are a few pictures of Little Laney:



Delaney has been very alert when she's awake, and is always looking around. Here she is about to find out why you shouldn't stare at a camera with its flash on :)




Emmie is very gentle with Laney, although we're not sure that she understands that the baby is here to stay. She missed Mommy very much when she was at the hospital, so she's happy to have someone to play barn with again.

Aah, asleep at last! Here's a shot of Laney catching some ZZZ's... she makes lots of little moans and noises when she sleeps, which is cute unless you're trying to sleep as well.
